Team24 's Spring Fundrasing Challenge Begins!
April 28, 2009
Our 4th Annual Team24's Spring Fundraising Challenge is a featured incentive program as we continue to raise funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Our challenge programs are open to all team members registered in the MS Bike Tour series as we use it to raise additional funds for the MS Society. The program begins on Monday, April 27, 2009 from 6:00pm PDT, and will run until Thursday, April 30th at 11:59pm PDT.
"This fundraising program is certainly a great way to add a bit of fun to our fundraising program as team members throughout the country will compete for a fabulous prize," says Roland Hoffman, National Team Captain for the 24 Hour Fitness charity team. The team-member that raises the most funds during the challenge will win the traditional "Java and Jamba" award - a $25.00 gift card to Starbucks AND a $25.00 gift card to Jamba Juice or Smoothie King in Missouri. Roland will also appear on the team's scoring center, known as the Team24's TourTracker System as he will be ON THE AIR during the last 5 hours of the challenge on April 30th by streaming video beginning at 7:00pm PDT on April 30th as Roland will announce the winner of the challenge at 11:59pm.
About Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis interrupts the flow of information between the brain and the body and it stops people from moving. Every hour in the United States , someone is newly diagnosed with MS, an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with more than twice as many women as men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 400,000 people in the U.S. , and 2.5 million worldwide.
About the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
MS stops people from moving. The National MS Society exists to make sure it doesn't. We help each person address the challenges of living with MS. In 2006 alone, through our home office and 50 state network of chapters, we devoted over $125 million to programs that enhanced more than one million lives. To move us closer to a world free of MS, the Society also invested more than $46 million to support 380 research projects around the world. We are people who want to do something about MS now. Join the movement at nationalmssociety.org.
Early and ongoing treatment with an FDA-approved therapy can make a difference for people with multiple sclerosis. Learn about your options by talking to your health care professional and contacting the National MS Society at www.nationalMSsociety.org or 1-800-FIGHT-MS (344-4867).
